My twin 275s had set for a couple of months in all different tilt positions for service, ect. When checking the 72 hour oil it was to the top of the hash marks so I tilted the motors up and down and it stayed there. I measured the top of the dip stick down to half of the hash mark and marked my sump pump pick up to remove the surplus oil down to that level. Now the Question to FCM and others in the know. Even though I had pumped the oil down in the motors, the dip stick was still reading up to the top of the hash mark. I have ordered my $9.75 service manual to see how the cavity is designed and suspect the dip stick is showing oil where there is none. I checked the oil after a ten minute run on the trailer with no change but after my two hour sea trial it was down on the hash mark where it should have been. Dip on a Dip Stick.
