SnapStone uses a high quality porcelain tile so you will need to a diamond tipped drill bit. My concern is when you drill the holes to fasten the island down you must be carefull. Anytime you anchor a floating floor there's risks. A very large island with granite counter tops may not be a good idea, but if its reasonablly sized with laminate tops you should be fine.
