Our GSD was bred from a high quality breeding lines. No guarantee against dysplasia. No dysplasia in family line.
This week her legs got tangled in a car seatbelt and she cried when she fell in between the seats. She started showing signs of limping in her hind quarters after the injury. 8 months old. She loves to run. Her limping has worsened. And I'm concerned. I can't find the source of injury. She probably needs to see a vet.
Please send lots of details on what you recommend for hip dysplasia screening. Is having a screening done @ 8 mths too early? I never owned dogs who needed hip and elbow x-rays.
anesthesia?
no anesthesia?
First time owner of a GSD. She has a great personality, sound temperament, very obedient, people pleaser and very smart. But I'm not convinced it was an excellent investment. If our GSD is diagnosed w/ dysplasia and our breeder isn't convinced of the diagnosis, then we will put simply put her to sleep.
