I am looking for any bio family. I was born on July 8, 1954. According to my birth certificate, I was born at Richland Memorial Hospital, Columbia SC. It was a private adoption, so no records of the adoption exist. My birth mother checked into the hospital using the name of my adoptive mother and gave all information of my birth parents for the records. So I don't know my birth mother's name. It will not appear on any legal documents to do with adoption. I was told she was from Brookyn New York but went to SC to give birth. My adoptive parents also lived in New York, in the Bronx. My birth mother met my adoptive parents. I think the whole thing was probably illegal as real name of birth mother was not declared on legal records. I was handed over to my adoptive parents immediately after birth. Any other black market babies out there? How can a private adoption be traced? The lawyer who handled it is probably dead and I never knew his name. All suggestions would be appreciated. |
