do u know anything at all, even general things about the adopted parents? ..even like what they did for work, etc... even the tiny things that u may not think r important, like if one of them was a police officer, or flyies small airplanes as a hobby, or if they drove a big truck. that will help me to look thru professional licences.
just anything at all.
also call the courthouse where the adoption was finalized, and ask to speak to a records researcher. tell him/her your story, why this is soo necessery! like if there r now medical issues in the family now, that u have grown older, <wink>. make them like you, and want to help u!! ..it is them, who are going to be finding ur records, and deciding what u get to have!!!! and ask what you need to do to get a copy of the original birth certificate to tell the child about things with ur family now.
at worst, they may say that they can only give u non identifying info. TAKE IT!! and ask them to please, please help u out!!
i believe they charge 1.00 per name. so if u run the mother, the father, and the adult adoptee, its 3.00. u will also have to send a signed letter of request. go ahead and send 10.00, if u can afford to. it may help. it may not. but either way, they have to go to the building where the hard copy of records r, and search thru them, physically, so it is worth thier time, anyways.
and it takes about a 4-6 day turn around, if they do it as fast as the lady at the courthouse in tavares, florida.
if u forget to tell them something, dont be afraid to call them, and ask! it gives u more time to make them like u, and be most gracious!!
then after u get whatever they will give u, we can continue that avenue!!
and in the mean time, is all u know is her d.o.b.?
