I am looking for my brother who was adopted in March of 1967. We, my mother, myself and my 3 sisters, were residing in Elgin, Illinois at the time of your adoption. My parents were separated when my mother discovered that she was pregnant with her 5th child. By this time my mother was not capable of caring for another child as she was only able to work part time, as a Registered Nurse, as my younger sisters, twins, were only 11 months old when you were born. My understanding is that you were born in March of 1967 in the city of Elgin, Illinois. Your adoption was private, through the doctor who delivered you, I believe his name was Dr. Whitlock. My mother worked for Sherman Hospital (which is where I assume you were born), along with Dr. Whitlock, and that the adoption was facilitated through Elgin Family Services. I've run into dead ends trying to find any information regarding your birth. It is a question mark for me to know if Elgin Family Services ever really existed. I believe my mother wanted to be as honest as she could be with information about your birth but she was incredibly guarded as I feel she was actually afraid that my sisters or I would actually find you. Our mother passed away on 4/29/2014 at the age of 86. She harbored incredible guilt over your adoption and that she had to give you up. I pray that I will find you one day and hope that your life has been good to you.
