Searching since 2008 for my daughter born mid 1958 in MA.. The birth mother vanished from my life in 1957 leaving a message via a relative that an abortion, which I opposed, was in the works.
Barbara was gone from my life until 2007 when her family name appeared during a search for classmates. In a few clicks I found her married name and that her husband had recently died.
Barbara responded to my condolence card stating that she did have a girl and that I was the father. She added that only her husband and an aunt knew of the out-of-wedlock birth.
When I told Barbara that I wanted to find the girl she shut down and would not give me any further information.
Over the years we, my wife and I, have joined numerous organizations including ISSR, ACONE, Ancestry, 23andme and numerous online searchers such as G'S. without any success. The consensus suggests that my daughter does not know that she was adopted or has passed.
My name does not appear on the certificate so I'm limited to doing a lot of detective work.
With some degree of probability Barbara could have been in Hanover, MA and the baby could have been adopted by a doctor living in the South Shore area...anybody out there know anything?
