ISO birth family family's name Pierce/Pearce-Brown in savannah*
*adoptive parents lived in FL, Ferindina Beach (Nassau County at the time*
*attorney in GA was Jack Usher
My birthday is February 1, 1976 and I was born in Savannah Ga. (Candler Hospital) to an unwed girl of 15 or 16. Dr. Darnell Brawner delivered me and was taking care of my bm as well. I left the hospital to go with my parents on Feb.4. The adoption was not through an agency as the doctor was who told my adoptive parents that a child was being given up. The papers were all signed and whatnot prior to my birth. My adoptive mom was originally from HInesville/Ft Stewart area. It is my impression that the major doctor's offices were all in Savannah at that time so anyone from smaller towns had to travel there. My aunt also remembers hearing about the Marylin Youmans Dance Studio in Savannah, meaning that there was a connection to those folks. My father's name was apparently never told and it was suspected that he was a married family friend. Obviously not confirmed.
-The family was thought to be Catholic and I would have been the first grandchild in the family. Saw on ancestry.com that Dr Brawner's mother's maiden name was Pearce.
-Dr's wife is still alive. Woody Brawner in Brooklet GA. Idk if there is a relation but it's a good coincide -Someone (unrelated) remembers a family of Pierce with 3 daughters living in the 2500 block of east 42 during the 70s in Savannah.
-I'm still looking but not very savvy at knowing where to look! Thank you so much for any leads that you can offer.
