Texas HB984 has made it thru the House committee, the Full House and then the Senate Committee! Today the Full Senate will hear this historic bill which will restore equal access to original birth certificates to Texas-born adults who were adopted as minors. This is the first retrospective AND prospective bill to even be proposed in Texas. Social media and DNA were truly the game changers in this fight.

There is a search group which has formed with the focus on teaching people to do their own searches. There will be support in the group and current plan is to have subscription databases available for individuals to use themselves. The group will be a combination of DNA and traditional search methods and restricted to only Texas adoption searches. The existing groups on facebook are huge and with 540,000 possibilities, we want to make sure these folks are well taken care of.
