My mother was born in Kingsville, TX 10/08/1958. Her birth name was Dottie Virginia Williams. She was adopted by Robert and Sina Carter and raised as Sheila Marie Carter. Her birth mother was supposedly about 17 and a Native American. We have no information about her birth father. My grandmother told my mom that she knew her birth mother and it's possible that her birth mother was at my grandmother's funeral but didn't make contact. My grandmother was very sick and offered to tell my mother about her birth mother but mom was so upset about losing her mother that she wasn't ready to hear about her yet. We are desperate for any information now. We had her adoption records opened but they were vague and didn't list her birth parents names. My mom lost both her parents at a young age and it would be awesome to find some family or siblings. Any help would be appreciated. |
