Seeking Sister born between 1954 and 1960 in Sarasota, Florida. Was born in a hospital, probably paid for by state or county as she was poor. Her maiden name is Helen Ruth Thomas, born March 2, 1932 in Glasgow, KY. She had two other children, one born in 1952, and one in 1953, in KY.
Her last name was Fields when she moved to Sarasota, Florida in the 50's. Information that I have is that she got pregnant in Kentucky by a soldier, and moved to Florida to her Brother's house and had the baby and immediately gave her up for adoption.
Her Brother's name was Franklin D. Thomas. I was told that he coerced her into giving the baby up, probably because she had two other children that was being raised by relatives. I moved to Sarasota as a very young girl to live with my Mother. I was there during hurricane Donna which was in 1960.
As I said...My Mothers birth name was Helen Ruth Thomas. She married and divorced my Father (last name Clark) in 1952 in Kentucky. She married my Brother's Dad (last name Fields) I guess some time in 1953. Not sure when they divorced, but I was told that she moved to Sarasota in the fifties.
My Mother and I moved to Indianapolis, IN in 1965. I'm afraid I don't know much more than that. My Mother took this secret to the grave in 1990. I did not find out about an adopted sibling till these my years later.
