I hope I filled this out clearly. my grandfather born 1897 ill was placed in a cook co ill orphanage at age 3. A family chose to adopt him so he was taken out to starke co Indiana near Knox and Aldine. The official adoption papers were not filed until he about 12yr old around 1912
Grandpa has never known his biological parents. His adoption
does show the fathers name as Hobbs
I am grandpa' granddaughter have searching for 30+ years and will soon be 78 years old

I felt so sad for my grandfather. he never was a happy man. He always felt 'why did my mother give me away?" He passed away in Knox, Ind 1980 His name was changed to Otis F.
