I assisted my daughter in law with her search and it won't be easy. I had her DNA test and do transfers to the four main sites. The closest match is a third cousin.
Then she requested her Immigration records from USCIS using the FOIA. This contained a lot of info, mothers name address at time of adoption and hint of two sisters.
Then she had a DNA 4th cousin help her get her Japanese records from her home town. She was able to get her grandparents names, and sisters name and address where they had lived more recent.
Now even with all that we have not been able to make contact with the family.
You could get lucky with the DNA testing and find someone close.
