Hello. I am 65 years old, and just this last year my mother has given me permission to try to find her birth mother, Ruth Thurman. My mother's name is Gloria Louise Kievit Behrens. My mother was born in Chicago, Il. on 6/22/1930 and given to" The Cradle" to be adopted out to a family. I have wanted to find my grandmother, Ruth Thurman, for a long time, but my mother would not give me permission to try to find her. When I obtained permission from my mother to try to find Ruth Thurman, I got a membership in Ancestry.com to see if I could gain any clues in finding her. My search was futile. I do not have Ruth Thurman's birthdate, social security number, or place of birth. Of course this made it very difficult to find her when there were hundreds of Ruth Thurmans in the Ancestry records. My mother is 86 years old, and the chance that my grandmother is even alive is very slim, but I still would love to find her or her grave and find out if I have any extended family, and to find out any medical history that would affect me or my four siblings.
Thank you for your consideration, Sherry K. Nicholsgray
