I am trying to find the true birth father and mother of my cousin Ronald M. Figler. Supposedly born as Ronald Michael Golojuck (Golojuch) on June 16, 1936 in Rome, NY. He was adopted by my uncle (Wallace Figler (Figlerski) and my aunt Isabel Dunham Figler (Figlerski) of Amsterdam, NY. The date of adoption was supposed to be December 9, 1939. My cousin never knew he was adopted until he tried to get a birth certificate in order to join the U.S. Army in 1953. I was told that he was called "ILLEGITIMATE." It was then that my uncle and aunt took him to Amsterdam attorney Tommy Mullarkey. Who provided a document that showed him being adopted 12/9/39. He also provided a partial birth certificate that showed he was born 6/16/36 as Ronald M. Golojuck in Rome, NY. Because my cousin Ron is not computer savy and he did not trust the attorney. I have taken up this search for him. He will be 82 years old in June and is living in the Veterans Domiciliary Home in Lakeland, Florida. Everyone in the family who really knew who his true birth parents were are now deceased. Valerie Golojuch Chamberland of Latham, NY seems to think that my cousin Ron is related to the Golojuch family of Amsterdam that appeared on the 1940 census for Amsterdam, NY.
