Read the state laws, see who can sign up on the state registry.
Some states are open and you can request your original birth certificates.

Once you do AncestryDNA, you can bring those raw dna over to several other sites. So if a relative did FTDNA, or myheritage, or gedmatch.com you can bring your Ancestrydna test results over to their site and maybe find more matches.
