Born June 5, 1956 of a white mother and a black father. I was immediately placed in the Avon Home for Children, for adoption. Have recently had an article printed in the Somerville Weekly News, attempting to find out my biological fathers name or any living relatives. I could have a half brother, half sister, aunt, uncle or cousins in the Somerville, Mass. area. I encourage all of the black community to read the article and try to remember whether or not a relative ever told the story of having an affair with a white woman named Velda Audrey Jenkins. Appartently they both worked for NECCO candy company. All relatives of my mother were told the baby had died. This affair would have been between November 1955 and June 1956. There is still a part of me missing, since I don't have all the answers. The article was printed last week and will be ran again this week. If anyone has any information, I can be contacted at the email address above. Thank you, Shelley Olivia Casselberry Harris
