I am working on genealogy and my #1 roadblock is my great grandmother. I only have "family lore" to go by ... Mary Elizabeth Lamp or Bizzant (depending on which of her childrens death certificates you look at) was born 4 Jul 1880 to Jacob Lamp or Bizzant. Her mother was allegedly a Native American who hung herself right after Mary was born and her father either gave her to neighbors or gave her up for adoption. She married Ephraim Kelly Shook in 1894 when she was 14.
Ephraim was deaf and mute and attended the WV School for the Deaf and Blind (assumption is this is where they met).
Any suggestions on how to break this brick wall are greatly appreciated!! |
