We always thought my grandmother (Janet) was born Dec 10, 1946 in either the Bronx or Manhattan. She did say one day that she was adopted and she remembers the last name Jerz as one of her biological parent's last names. I recently did a DNA test and I have quite a few matches from these two families: Jerz and Sellers. These families are from the Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia area. However, none of them have heard about an adoption in their family. The parents we always thought were Janet's biological parents were Helen Cassidy and Thomas Murray. Janet definitely lived in the Bronx as a kid and then she moved out to Long Island and that's where she lived until she passed away. Can someone help me. Is there a way to get a copy of her birth certificate pre-adoption? If anyone has any info, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! |
