I'm enjoying and learning much from this debate and I've come across many statements that are worth commenting on but I only feel like addressing one.
Craig you made the statement: "Regeneration is not a sovereign action by God done to only "the elect", nor is it something that God does apart from the will of man. Man must be depraved enough to ask to be regenerated or it won't happen."
When I read John 1:12-13 I find just the opposite of what you said here. Here is the verse:
"12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
It seems to me from this verse that it is mans responsibility to believe on Christ, however it is ultimatly not man's will but God's will(which John emphasises by repeating three times that it's not of man's blood, flesh, or will) to allow that person to be born into God's family.
Also, I belive Paul Washer is due far more credit than you are giving him. It was his preaching that really pulled me away from lukewarmness and helped me to fear this awesome, Holy God. It was by his preaching that I really learned the Gospel since I wasn't hearing all of it in the church I was attending.
Thanks for your time,
Tim
