As you know, we recently lost our rink in Newington, and now it's a haul to find another rink. Since RS Newington used to be a Happy Wheels, can I *assume* that your rink is nearly identical in size & quality? The floor at RSN was always immaculate, and the owners did take pride in keeping the floor spotless. I noticed a pic on your gallery page with many people on the floor w/out skates...were they also in sock-feet?
I had lots of suggestions for RSN, however, they "sold out" before we knew the rink was being closed. Would have loved to do something about it before it was too late.
Video screens...wow...that would be great; the only concern I'd have is where in the rink it would be located...if on the rink, those who already aren't paying attention are going to be paying LESS attention...it's like giving a driver a cell phone LOL! Maybe put it in the sidelines or over the DJ booth...where those who aren't skating could see it instead of the skaters. Just a thought.
Other things on my list would have included "theme" nights such as Disco, 80s, 50s, etc, or even Hawaiian night...provide pina-colada or tropical fruit slushies & little umbrellas, leis, pineapple pizza...that sort of thing.
