I own and operate N44GH, Registered to Flight Data, Inc. (Currently bringing it out of a 4 year
storage) to be used for Angel Flight disaster relief work like she was used for during Katrina, ie the book: Angel Flight 44. I am seeking historical info on this aircraft before it became a C-117D, R4D-8, Navy-USMC aircraft. I would like to find out where it served while in the USAAF as a C-47A-30DL, CN 9620. Maybe some names of crew members, a little WW II history, possibly some photos etc. I flew as a C117D AC in the USMC at El Toro, Calif. 1974-76 at H&MS 37 in C117's as General Homer Dan Hill's staff pilot, CG of the 3rd
MAW for 14 months until his retirement. Good duty.
This aircraft was the Blue Angels support aircraft in Corpus
Christi, Texas 1953-55 I think. Returned to the fleet in 1962. I think it was originally built circa 1942. Not really
sure. I am also looking for SGT Parker who was my favorite
Crew Chief. All help will be sincerely appreciated. I will
also send a free copy of Angel Flight 44 to all who help
in this endeavor. Glen Hyde, GHYDE747@pwhome.com, 817-430-1905, cell: 214-546-8811, fax: 817-491-2538
