Dear Sirs: I hope that you can help me with a research query. I am an editor/researcher at the Royal Ontario Museum.
The ROM has recently acquired a printed patterned textile [see link above] that has images related to travel. One of these images seems to me [a non aviation expert] not to be a DC-10 (a jet) as was stated in the caption on the website, but rather a DC-3. Can you confirm this hypothesis?
I have a high resolution photo that I can share with a rep of the DC-3/Dakota Historical Society for a better look at the fine detail of the textile. For example, there appears to be a door open below the cockpit window with a pilot(?)leaning out of it. Also, there are some markings on the plane that we could use your assistance in deciphering. We hope that details such as these will help us in dating the textile.
