McLaren Oakland Hospital Pontiac, MI: Open Biomed Tech 1, Entry Level Position, Clinical Engineering
As an entry level technician, provides basic equipment service and support, to include repairs, preventive maintenance, quality assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting and general maintenance on one or more categories of general biomedical patient care equipment and related technologies at multiple facilities. Assists and/or review work performed by other service providers, both McLaren staff as well as external vendors, in completion of repair and maintenance work activities. Assist with installation planning, acceptance testing and ongoing up-time management of newly purchased specialty equipment. Periodically travels to assigned hospitals, affiliates and other external business entities (contractual) to provide technical services per departmental policy. Over time, and as experience is gained, demonstrates ability to assume additional responsibilities to service additional clinical and related support equipment as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, or equivalent (on the job) technical training in the repair and maintenance of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment/devices.
• Participation in biomedical internship program desirable.
• Needs good basic electrical and mechanical skills
• Knowledgeable on use and operation of software based products, to include general PC based systems; database and office software applications.
