Thank you for taking the time to comment on this forum. While we have great underground support, it is critical that we show public momentum going into 2012. People are afraid to publically support me because fear of retribution from others with the ability to cause them problems. That is a fundamental problem and a huge crack in the foundation of our Democracy when people fear publically supporting candidates whom they are in favor of. It’s the same mentality that hurts governments like Somalia or other third world places where people are afraid to express what they really want. Its my job to help them rise above their fear of being persecuted for their choices and take a stand. I can do that by setting the example of leadership in standing first and standing alone. Hopefully, I wont be alone too long. And in fact, I don’t really feel alone with so much underground support. Great governments were not built out of fear. They were built by people who stood up for what they believe in. I stand now as an example of no fear hoping to start a movement of young Samoan leaders who will take charge of their own future and not leave it to someone else to do for them. Im just a tool to open the tightly closed doors for our next generation to walk through with their heads held high. Id be happy if we can accomplish just that. It would be a great start. |
