Before you jump to too many conclusions, let me offer why I did what I did.
In my opinion, the only way this government changes is if we change the Directors that run their departments like their own little family business. That means if Faoa wins, there is no change possible. 16 years of history will show you that.
4 months ago, I did some polling and saw it was impossible to knock Faoa out of the run off. The best I could do would be to defeat the next highest candidate which was LOLO. I think I put up on our TV speeches a solid platform and powerful delivery on Energy, Economy, Health Care and Immigration but it wasnt enough. In fact I will say I put up one good fight that I pretty much did with very little help form the community as everyone was very happy to stay in their holes and let me march with only a few people by my side. At the end of the of the day, I could not compete with the enormous amounts of money that were being thrown at voters from other camps.
So four months ago, I contacted all candidates to form the "gubernatorial collision for change". It was all five candidates against Faoa. All were on board. Which ever one of us 5 faces Faoa in the run off all would support to bring change. I mentioned in two of my public speeches on KZVK if you watched, that the five candidates for change were united. I said this twice on TV and named them, LOLO, Save, Hunkin, Afoa and Jones. I clearly indicated beyond guess work we 5 were united.
When Lolo became the one in the run off, only Save backed out. The rest all stood firm for change.
Now you think the 1602 scandal which had t have more people involved than Lolo means you would rather have Faoa? Well that is your choice. But what I see is that something is better than nothing. We will change directors and I will see it through. Lolo promised me all directors will be changed. Isnt that better than walking away with nothing?
I put 4 years into this race and $10k of my own money. I asked nothing of anyone accept to listen to what I had to say. And I made this decision for everyone. We WILL have change. If you think 1602 is a problem, you might want to consider that Faoa was 1 juror away from going to prison only 2 years ago.
Yes I agree we didnt get exactly what we were after. But I am not laying down and pouting like a little kid. We will see change through even if change is not entirely as we had dreamed of. I am the one that should be angry and upset that
I gave the community exactly what it asked for. I real opportunity for change. Free Health Care, a way to pay for it, Energy Program that is awesome, Firm Immigration and one candidate that didnt have culture or family conflict of interest. I put my self out there for ridicule and many other difficult things. Before you judge my final decisions, please know I did all of this for the public and have asked for or taken nothing in return. A soldier doing what a soldier does. Fights not for glory, but for what he believes in. I hope you change your mind about Faoa. I would hate to think that someone that voted for me :real change" would put their vote in guaranteed business as usual. Even not vting at all is a vote for Faoa. Please reconsider. |
