Recently, I had the chance to speak to a young lady that had been molested. Without tools to help her recognize and define her emotional reaction, she is far from recognizing how much her current interactions with the world are shaped and controlled by her past molestation. Emotional Intelligence training would provide her with the insight needed, to start relating to her peers in a socially acceptable manner, which is so important at that age. So many kids are molested, or suffer from some other type of neglect, and are the walking wounded. How great would it be for schools and therapists to buy into EI training for their students! |
