A few comments for Mr. Silver. Elijahu is an interesting name - I would like to know its meaning. From my limited knowledge, seems "Jah" is one of the names of God. Mr. Silver's statement that Isa. 53 is in past tense ... hmm...yes, some of it certainly is that, yet..., there are some present and future tense words there also. It made me ponder, however, and ask why. V. 1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? V.2 For He shall grow up...... He Hath....and when we shall see Him.....no beauty that we should desire Him, etc. I thought of the fact that the Father is omniscient, omnidirectional, not caught up in a "time zone" as we mortals, almighty, nothing is impossible with Him...so, the Father must be looking FORWARD to the Messiah and His finished work of shedding his blood for the sins of the whole world (i.e. the sacrifice of the Lamb as a sin offering. Without the shedding of the blood, there is no remission of sin.) In the New Testament book, written by Jewish Peter (I Pet. l:18-23), Christ (Jesus = Yeshua, Jehovah is Salvation) is identified as a lamb without blemish and without spot, who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world... This seems to me (the Father looked ahead when Jesus would die and considered the work finished. The prophecy of Isa. 53 would have to be partially in past tense. There is much here, and deep...it needs studying with much prayer and faith. Jesus is the ONLY ONE who fulfilled those prophecies, including many other detailed writings. By accepting through faith that Jesus IS the Son of God, the Messiah, and that he was obedient to all things the Father had given Him to do plus the fact of His resurrection, there will be a new eternal life, new under-
standing, new joy, new peace. The word of God will be opened up as never before. Jesus said, "Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are THEY WHICH TESTIFY OF ME." Mr. Silver, sir, what do YOU think of Jesus? Was he just a good man? Was he truthful? (He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." When the high priest asked him "Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?," Jesus answered him "I AM, and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven," He declared: "I and my Father are one." Jesus also said, "These are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets and in the psalms, CONCERNING ME.") Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, and something which only GOD HIMSELF can do, he healed the blind. Mr. Silver, may the LORD bless you, and thank you for writing.
