Now wait a minute - hold on there for just awhile. If anyone is going to write this "comentary", it should be you. After all, it was your question that started this discussion. If the answers have been adequate, then you won't have any trouble at all.
Anyway, to write a commentary "of the whole picture of the ages and its callings' is no walk in the park. Why, men have spent their entire life doing just that. I'm not sure I've got enough time left in mine to contemplate such an undertaking much less the ability to do so, even if Jim Martin helps. A good effort though can be found in Mr. Welch's "Alphabetical Analysis" which I highly recommend.
Now, in regard to the pre - Abrahamic people, they are covered in Hebrews 11 along with the post - Abrahamic faithful ones whose "hope" is the "city" - v.16. All this comes under the "better" references in vv. 16, 35, 40. Notice their perfection in v. 40 is a combinaton of the whole faithful group.
