Hey,
you might not wanna read what i say b/c i am mid-acts, but i agree with Mark more than Joyce.
Before Jesus died, is was faith plus works. God didn't give Moses the law AND the use of blood sacrifices just so they could be ignored. I feel James makes it perfectly clear.
Also, Luke 1:6 "both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessy" Just take it for what it's worth.
Another interesting tid-bit. How many times did Paul use the word "grace"? 87 times!
How many times did Jesus use the word "grace"? Big Fat ZERO!
That right there should tell you something. If Jesus never mentioned GRACE, then chances are pretty high that is wasn't a big deal in determining salvation. Now, don't get me wrong, everyone still needed some grace; but you can't deny the fact that Jesus never mentioned it...
Joyce, i like that you're so enthusiastic about your beliefs, i see that you've posted about this salvation issue many times. But, one thing that hurts your arguement: You keep saying that works PROVED faith. Could you please give me a verse were it says that - making sure the verse uses the word PROVE. I feel like you made an assumption and then chose verses that could possibly back it up, instead of letting the verses make the assumption. |
