Hi this is my second post, sorry if my question seems silly.
I went to the podiatrist about a month ago with pain in my foot between the 3rd and 4th toes. The doctor felt my foot for about 5 seconds, pronounced it a morton neuroma and ordered me into 600$ orthotics. He did not give me any other options or suggestions. I didn't purchase the orthotics at the time but told him I'd go home to think about it. Since then I've done a bit of internet reseach,...am I incorrect to assume a mortons neuroma CANNOT be CURED by wearing custom orthotics, only RELIEVED? I don't want to be only relieved, and have to purchase expensive orthotics for the rest of my life. My concern is that I'm trying to get pregnant in the next few months, what if I opt for cortisone injections instead? (the doctor did not give me ANY options...just the orthotics, I am very disappointed in his lack of information given to me, plus 40$ for a 2 minute diagnosis) I've read cortisone injections can help, but can they CURE? What abut surgery? Can I opt for this surgery if I am pregnant?
I guess my biggest concern is that I don't want just a "fix" I want it gone for good, if surgery is the only way do I need to get on this immediatly BEFORE becoming pregnant? BTW my foot is annoying more that anything...its not an insane unliveable pain, but I guess on ascale of 1-10 its probably around a 6 every day.
Your sugggestions, please? Should I book a second visit with another doctor?
Thanks

Kristine
