Recently, I have noticed several re-enlistments with the following statement added: I swear the I am fully aware and fully understand the conditions under which I am enlisting.
The Oath is specifically worded iaw the United States Code Title 10, Chapter 31, Section 502. Historically, the Oath has not been legally changed or amended since 1962 which added "So help me God" and " or affirmation." Although there have been two other amendments (1989 & 2006), none change the verbiage of the Oath.
Has anyone else heard the "I am fully aware..." statement added to the Oath, and does anyone know what regulation or directive has added it to our Oath? |
