Unless things have changed recently, this is not something the Career Counselor handles. One cannot simply transfer from the Reserves (or National Guard) to Active Duty. Enlisting on active duty is a separate enlistment process. If one is in the Reserves and wishes to enlist on active duty, one must visit an active duty recruiter, who will assist in the processing of DD-368 (Rev. 11-94), Request for Conditional Release. This form is to be approved by the Reserve and basically says that if the individual is accepted on active duty, the Reserves will agree to release them from their commitment.
For more details should be available in MILPERSMAN 1910-102, Section 7 - Selected Reserve Personnel. |
