I was wondering if the directors have any thoughts about allowing these "self-healing" rubbery plastic targets that you can secure in the berm with a piece of rope or just toss in there like a clay. I can't see how they could cause a ricochet being that they are in the berm and projectiles pass though, although if they rolled all the way down and people were shooting at them in front of the berm on the ground it could cause an issue I suppose. Natchez has them in their catalog under the brand Impact Seal. It's fun to plink at clays in the berm since you get feedback when you hit. I don't have any personal experience with the plastic ones but from videos I've seen they roll around or move when struck but have shapes mostly designed to roll and stop, some have rope attached, probably for hanging, but I thought one could stake it in the berm with a stick to keep them near target impact height.
Clays are cheap but I thought this might be an alternative that would last longer, supposedly 1000 rounds but that's subjective. They cost around 8-15 depending so about the same cost as a box of clays. Thoughts gentlemen? |
