I watched the news report given by the family of Shawn Hornbeck's family on CNN News. He was missing for 4 1/2 years from his family in Missouri. He was 11 years old and just vanished. The emotion in his family's voice is beyond any words I can find. To not know where your child is has to be one of the worst imaginable feelings ever. Thank God he is now home!
But "someone" was paying attention and reported seeing a white pick up truck in the parking lot of their apartment building. Because of "this person" who was paying attention and reported this white pickup truck, two young boys are now back home with their families, both of them kidnapped.
Thank God for this person who has spoken out. This person called the authorities with a "tip" and look what a difference it made. Two families can be whole again!
In today's world kids can't play outside in their yards like they did when I grew up in the 60's and 70's. They can't safely walk home from school. Our world has changed and not for the better. We need more people who still carry the values of life, family, love, caring, and looking out for one another.
It's very hard to understand until you yourself are put into a situation, but people need people. We all need one another. We all need to pay attention to things, as we drive, as we shop, as we work, as we live. This story proves that one person can make a difference. One small insignificant detail can make a huge difference to many people. |
