 Subject: Trying to locate German birth parents

I recently was able to get my birth certificate which indicates I was born in Florsheim Germany on 4-1-1959. My parents are Robert Battefeld and Maria Theresia Battefeld. I was adopted by August Hugo and Lina Mary Giller. My adoptive parents would not talk about my adoption but they did say I was in an orphanage prior to my adoption. Can someone tell me how I can find out any information? I don't know where to start. Thank you. Karen Giller
