In 1969 I lived in a haunted house in Boardman, Ohio. (Near Youngstown) We didn't know it at the time, but earlier that year there was a murder/suicide commited in the house. The father shot and killed his adopted daughter, then turned the gun on himself. I was a teenager at the time, but the memories of what happened there will never be forgotten. We were a family of five, and every one of us saw the spirit of the man many times. Full body, and as if he were actually standing there. Not a smoky image or anything like that. The only one who ever saw the girl was my dad, and he only got to see her face. The second night that we lived there my family was awakened by a horrible scream. From that point on there was activity every night, or what seemed to be every night. Door latches being rattled, footsteps, heavy breathing, things being moved...I can't begin to tell you how terrifying it was. I have talked to the new owners of the home, and it seems as if there is still "someone" there, although I'm not sure that it's the same spirits who we shared the home with when we lived there. |
