We had a wonderful Memorial Day at Fort Hawkins and at the Fort Hill Cemetery with close to 75 folks attending the cemetery service and the fort busy all afternoon. Thanks to Lynn & Pete for holding down the fort during the cemetery service! About half of the crowd at the service had never been to the Fort Hill Cemetery before! FHC & Middle GA Vietnam Veteran Chapter Member, John Goolsby, opened with a prayer, my brief comments are attached above, Rev. Alexander Newton, Back To The Street Ministries and annual Easter Sunrise Service participant, offered the Benediction and Middle GA Vietnam Veteran Chapter member, Bill Carey, closed with a stirring TAPS. It was a beautiful day and beautiful service - you would have been proud! |
