I was trying on shoes and I have a problem in buying shoes, flats or heels that my usual size doesn't fit because the shoes is too tight on my upper heel and the bigger size while more comfortable standing, while walking rubs up and down on this same spot. I started thinking maybe my heel is shaped differently than others and looking at both my parents, it is! I have this small bump on my heel consistant with pictures of what Haglund's Deformity look like. Reading some websites, Haglund's deformity usually occurs in people who wear shoes that rub up against the back of the foot a lot especially high heels. I hardly ever wear shoes like that because in my adult life, I have always had this heel issue but didn't think of it as a possible abnormality until now. It feels like a bone and in no way is a calous. Here is a picture, it is hard to get a decent picture of your heel and the bump is slight but in person you can definitely see the difference to a 'normal' heel. Hopefully this works and you may be able to click on it to make it bigger.

Should I get this checked out and is it necessarily Haglund's or could my feet just be made like this? |
