Appropriate treatment for any condition generally requires a relevant and accurate diagnosis. That diagnosis is the responsibility of the attending doctor, and guesses, even from doctors, based on information from lay persons on the Internet or elsewhere are not only not a substitute, but might cause treatment which is inappropriate and even harmful.

Your mention of red lines which might well mean that there is an infection present, perhaps brought upon in the non-operated toe by bandage irritation from the adjacent toe, bespeaks of the likelihood of either a lack of proper attention to the post-operative situation by the doctor or undue delay by the patient in reporting post-operative problems.

If it is a superficial infection, the basics of treatment are drainage, soaks, cleanliness and avoidance of whatever irritation caused the sore in the first place. Systemic antibiotics may or may not be essential, depending on the degree of progress of the infection and its control by the aforementioned basic treatment.

But whether it be an infection or a sterile tissue breakdown, it should be aggressively treated to prevent further and more serious difficulties. If you believe that your doctor is not addressing this situation appropriately, I would suggest an immediate second opinion.
