Your doctor, both ethically and legally, must share your x-rays with you on your request. They are a part of your medical records which you have an absolute legal right to obtain. Insist that he do so (including the pre-operative films), and that he goes over with them with you to your satisfaction. Providing you know and understand what you are looking at, that should establish whether or not adequate bone was removed and how well the toe was aligned. But confirm by the name radiographically imprinted (not by a paper label) on the x-ray that they are indeed your x-rays. If, as it seems, you have lost confidence in your present doctor, you should have him make copies of both the pre and post-operative films (most states specify a maximum nominal charge for this service, but most doctors do it for free), and you can take them to another doctor for a look-see and examination of your foot. Your present doctor might offer to send them to the other doctor, but make it one of your choosing, not his. I would prefer that you personally carry the x-rays to another doctor of your choosing without telling your present doctor who that will be, and have the new doctor give his opinion to the extent he can without consultation with or knowing who your doctor is.

Quite obviously, neither I nor anyone else reading your post can tell you if what was done was proper and adequate.
