Dear friends of Illume,

It’s been a long time coming, but we are finally making progress on our website. Being a strictly volunteer organization, Illume must rely on the time and talents of individuals who have many other responsibilities in their lives. The end result is that some things take a bit longer to pull together than we would like, requiring persistence, patience, and lots of collaboration. The good news is that, because we are a voluntary organization, we have no administrative salaries to pay therefore 100% of the profits that we raise through our efforts go directly to children who have lost a parent or parents to AIDS. Although we dream big where helping the children is concerned, we must remember that oftentimes it is the exponential effect of countless small endeavors that result in great achievements. Many of us have busy lives, but recognize the tremendous needs of peoples around our world. One needn’t feel it necessary to sacrifice all in order to make a significant difference in our world. We can be weekend warriors and armchair missionaries and still accomplish tremendous things. Our efforts will impact our brothers and sisters around the globe today, ultimately making the world a better place for our children, their children and all children in years to come.
Great things have already happened as Illume has made many wonderful friends who are offering of their time and talents as they, too, have the desire to lessen the sufferings and support the development of orphaned children. We have several exciting events scheduled and are seeking additional speaking and fundraising opportunities at schools, churches and organizations. Please let us know if you have any ideas for us.
Funds raised through your donations and the sale of Ilume merchandise were sent to Uganda to be dispersed for the purpose of providing school tuition, books, uniforms, medical supplies, and food for several children in Ngora who have been identified as being vulnerable and in need of our help.
Thank you for joining with us in offering them the necessary love, health, hope and financial support necessary to allow them to reach their full potential and become happy, contributing members to their own communities.
Our thanks go out to everyone who has worked so hard to help to create and sustain Illume, and we look forward to all the good works that are to come. It is not only the children who benefit from our endeavors. We all ultimately stand to gain when we undertake efforts to better the lives of those who are less fortunate.

Peace and Grace,
Jeri
