Thank you for the thoughtful presentation last night at the CARS meeting. I voiced my feedback at the meeting last night. And, I would like to express my strong request here that we allow the community residents to vote on either 1) brown/beige schematics or 2) blue schematics for the common area halls i.e. paint & carpet.
This seems to be the area where much "personal" feedback was expressed last night. I may not personally like the outcome but at least the majority consensus prevails.
Couple items re: carpet having worked in this industry for many years. The sisal fiber selected for the lobby area area rugs to anchor the seating areas- great look but very unpractical for this application. Sisal is a very porous material- it acts like a sponge. Anything spilled(liquids) are quickly absorbed. You can't clean it. It water spots as well. So, no matter how dark the color, it will show stains very quickly. This is not a sound choice nor economical long-term. Try to look at some of the indoor-outdoor materials that resemble sisal but are manufactured of a synthetic fiber.
Finally, I love the choice of carpet tiles. What a great way to get your "useful" life out of our hallway carpet. Just one question that might be confirmed. I assume these are Solution Dyed, but if they're not this should be a requirement. I say this because although we have a "no liquid bleach" policy there will always be those who can't do without it. We see this in lightened areas of the carpet where bleach has been spilled down the halls to & from the laundry rooms and even near the trash closets. You can spill bleach on Solution Dyed carpet without any harm.
Thanks again to the CARS Committee for a job well done!
