The Years of Tears Organization was awarded a grant from The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The Weed & Seed grant will allow the Years of Tears web site to be up and running for another year. We will be getting two phone numbers so people can better communicate with us.
We will be doing more advertising on billboards.
Please remember that ALL the work we do is volunteer. I have worked with many VOLUNTEER'S who get paid for their time and effort - WE DO NOT. Money isn't important when you see what violence does to family, friends and co workers. No one should have to live through losing a loved one to violence and no one should ever get away with it. If more people were held accountable the message would get out to the people who place no value on life.
Our attorney is currently filing our 501 C paperwork making us a tax exempt organization. We want to raise a $50,000. reward which would be good for a 30 day time period. We will rotate the award to an unsolved case in Berks County. There are too many families here in Berks County who have lost a loved one to violence and have no closure. It is a horrible thing to live with. There are too many killers walking free. Enough is enough - get involved! |
