What happened to Rowland Wingfield (born 1808) following the 1881 England census of Wandsworth, London, ED All Saints, at Ringford Road, 4 Edith Terrace?

Rowland Wingfield Head Mar. 72 Annuitant Born: Market-Drayton, Shropshire
James Strong Visitor Unm. 22 Professional (___?___) Born: Bath, England

No record has been found of marriage. Was this a census error? Other research also says Rowland's birthplace was Wales. 1861 Canadian census states he was then Single, and born in England. 1851 Canadian census does not list his birthplace.

James Strong in 1891 Chelsea, London, England census gives his own occupation as Actor. He is listed with a younger brother, Thomas. No known relationship to Rowland.

Rowland lived in Kent in 1870. He was very active in Canadian agricultural and livestock development, a land-owner in Canada, and also acquired much land in 1841 in Iowa. He made numerous trips to and from England to Canada and U.S., and was listed on census records as Gentleman.

Any clues as to where he was after 1881, where he died or where he is buried would be passed on to those researching Rowland's disappearance. Some info says he died in 1884 and was buried in Shropshire. No evidence or documentation has been found to support that info. Free England BMD records reveal no marriage, death or burial info for him. Help appreciated.
