I don't have a clear picture of what you are attempting to describe, as the medial and lateral aspects of EVERYONE'S ankle normally protrude. The ankle is not a separate and distinct bone, but is a joint, the bony aspects of which consists of the distal ends of the tibia and fibula, which forms a mortise into which the most superior bone of the foot, the talus, fits and articulates. Also, you offer no history as to when it began, under what conditions, how and if it progressed, any objective finding other than the protrusion or whether or not there was some sort of trauma associated with the complaint. But all that being said, I have consistently advised that Internet forums are not appropriate venues for diagnosis, and certainly not appropriate venues for prognosis estimates or treatment recommendations WITHOUT a diagnosis. See a podiatrist, and if you still have unanswered questions after a diagnosis is made or treatment instituted based on a known diagnosis, I will be happy to attempt to respond to them in a general manner.
