 Subject: Hammer Toe Operation

I have been advised that I should have an operation for a Hammer Toe. I have read up on the proceedure and it seems very extreme because they are going to cut out a bit of the bone from the toe. As I was a Ballroom Dancing champion and hope to teach and Dem I am worried that the operation might mean that I can no longer dance.
I have been trying to find someone on the Internet that has had the operation to find out whether it is usually successful or whether I should leave well alone.
