Instead of possibly unwarranted concern, see your surgeon. An x-ray should be able to show if there is bone resorption about the screw, thus allowing it to become mobile, and an established infection should be easily seen. If there is only suspicion of a bone infection on x-ray, it can be generally confirmed with a bone scan.
