Hello,
We just purchased a german shephard puppy 2 weeks ago (he was 8 weeks at purchase). He has developed what looks like from my research online an umbilical hernia. So we took to vet and they said to push it in and we will check it at the next visit we have this week. But When we do this "Rocco" cries. i tell my husband to stop doing it as I think its hurting him. Is it? Also I know puppies are biters...but I think Rocco thinks we are his personal rawhides...is this normal? I have a golden retriever/chow mix that I adopted at 12 weeks.... 2 years ago and she never went thru any of this. I know two very different breeds of dogs...but I just want to know what to do for Rocco so that I help to develop a well adjusted dog with a great disposition. I don't want an aggressive dog that I have to worry about being out in public. we did start puppy training classes last week. Also I noticed alot of puppy ads that say their puppies are potty trained at 10 weeks??? What are we doing wrong??? Any help or suggestions are appreciated. I had german shephards growing up, but was really too young to know what to do with them. Thanks, Debbie in NC |
