I have been diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the tibial sesamoid. The surgeon recommended that I use custom orthotics with a sesamoid recess for a year, as well as limited activity. (No running, jumping, etc.). I can't seem to find good information as to what type of shoe to buy for the orthotics. A stiff-soled one? Or is soft soled OK? Is it preffered to have a rocker sole? I don't know whether to start with a hiking boot or an athletic shoe. |
